This was an unexpected treat. On visiting family in the Cotswolds to then have a family meal at The Feathered Nest Country Inn, in the village of Nether Westcote, Oxfordshire. We were a large party of 11 people, so it would be interesting how they would accommodate us. The decor in the pub/inn is eclectic, with some saddles as bar stools, a bit of taxidermy around, a bit pub like, a bit more restaurant like, cosy and yet slightly decadent.
The new FlickR layout is looking good… will hopefully be uploading latest pics soon
Having had a re-introduction into interiors when a friend asked me to accompany him on a furniture research mission a couple of weeks ago, I realised how lighting seemed to be one of the last things that people would think of when setting up a new home or just re-designing. Possibly also one of the last things that people would spend a lot of money on too. I have found that the Dutch on the whole have very good design concepts and application but also in particular on being creative in their lighting design. When I was revamping my house I found myself turning towards the Dutch for inspiration on lighting, of course I love Italian design, but the price range of these are really quite crazy.
