The Leica V-Lux4

Another Toy! How fortunate and what fun! We’re now looking at a bridge camera, the Leica V-Lux 4. Touted as a travel, wildlife and sport camera… I look forward to testing these out, plus of course my usual food photography 🙂

I’ll have to admit, a bridge camera for me is harder to get use to – perhaps psychologically I expect it to function like an SLR, I have to say, the electronic view finder isn’t bad, but with this camera, the LCD display is mainly used. I am viewing this camera also like my Olympus OM-D, as something I can keep in my bag and whip out to take pics without sacrificing on the quality of the image. The added advantage of this camera for me is the fantastic zoom range it has. The image shown here is taken from the article on engadget.com.

Olympus OM-D Camera

Having had a Canon Powershot for a number of years, I was keen to find a nice camera that would bridge the gap between handy small camera with LCD screen only and my Canon SLR with a view finder. There was much procrastinating as I never got that “yes this is the one” feeling when I looked around. Of course the camera staff at various shops were quick to point out that I was asking the impossible and gave me that “get real” look plus, I have to admit, looks of “what does this girl know about cameras”.  However… I persevered, as for me, there really isn’t any point of “making do” with something, and of course as some would know, I have certain stubborness when told “not possible”!
