On my travels around Carnaby Street last Saturday, I happened to come across a shop front displaying the finalists of the EchoChic Design Awards 2013. I was drawn by some of the designs that came up… there seemed something familiar about them.
What is The EchoChic Design Awards? It is a sustainable design competition to inspire emerging fashion designers and students to create mainstream clothing with minimal textile waste. What a great idea, read their mission.
I’ve separated my food blogs to another site called ytTastes.com as they seem to be getting a bit more prominent and constantly evolving. I will keep this blog more photography and design based. Please continue to visit both blogs!
Saying that, here is an interesting view I had yesterday. Can you guess where it is?
Having had a re-introduction into interiors when a friend asked me to accompany him on a furniture research mission a couple of weeks ago, I realised how lighting seemed to be one of the last things that people would think of when setting up a new home or just re-designing. Possibly also one of the last things that people would spend a lot of money on too. I have found that the Dutch on the whole have very good design concepts and application but also in particular on being creative in their lighting design. When I was revamping my house I found myself turning towards the Dutch for inspiration on lighting, of course I love Italian design, but the price range of these are really quite crazy.
